Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes with the correct tooling and fixtures.
• Operate MAZAK CNC lathes, with 5-axis experience.
• Fine-tune G-code, speeds and feeds to optimise machining.
• Provide feedback to CNC Programmers on tooling, cutting paths, speeds and feeds.
• Run multiple machines where appropriate.
• Carry out first-off inspection before full production runs, monitoring tool wear.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and identify process improvements.
• Work closely with Programmers and Engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain setup sheets, process parameters and job documentation.
• Ensure materials and production hours are accurately recorded.

CNC Turner Machinist

Location: Swindon
Type: Permanent, Lates

Hours: Flexible 40 week Mon-Thurs
Salary: £40,000 - £48,000

The Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner/Operator with 5-axis experience to join an advanced manufacturing environment producing high-precision components.

You will be responsible for setting and operating MAZAK CNC lathes, ensuring components are produced safely, efficiently and to exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes with the correct tooling and fixtures.
• Operate MAZAK CNC lathes, with 5-axis experience.
• Fine-tune G-code, speeds and feeds to optimise machining.
• Provide feedback to CNC Programmers on tooling, cutting paths, speeds and feeds.
• Run multiple machines where appropriate.

About You

• CNC Turning experience is essential.
• Experience with MAZAK or Fanuc machines preferred.

• High attention to detail and quality.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
