Job summary

Metalis Recruitment Group and a well-established Wakefield manufacturer invite applications for a CNC Machinist (Horizontal Machining Centre). You will set, operate and program HMCs, read engineering drawings and inspect parts to ensure quality.

The role suits an apprentice-trained machinist with HMC experience and heavy engineering exposure. Working Mon-Thu 8:00-16:30 and Fri 8:00-13:00, you will support continuous improvement and perform routine maintenance while using Fanuc and Heidenhain

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained machinist
• Experience with horizontal machining centres
• Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
• Experience working within a heavy engineering environment

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and program horizontal machining centres
• Read and work from engineering drawings
• Support continuous improvement activities
• Ensure machining processes are followed
• General machine maintenance
• Carry out inspection checks on parts
• Use manual measuring equipment
