Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Wakefield is seeking a CNC Miller for night shifts to set, program, and operate Haas milling machines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role offers competitive pay at £16ph with a 25% night shift uplift, along with flexible work arrangements and a company bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Confident in setting, programming, and operating Haas milling machines.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set, program, and operate Haas 3-axis vertical machining centres.
• Manufacture high-quality component parts within drawing tolerances.
• Use appropriate inspection and measuring equipment to verify accuracy.

CNC Miller – Nights
Location: Wakefield
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6pm – 6am (includes 25% night shift uplift)

Key Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist

• Set, program, and operate Haas 3-axis vertical machining centres (VF2 – VF9)
• Manufacture high-quality component parts within drawing tolerances
• Use appropriate inspection and measuring equipment to verify accuracy
• Read and interpret engineering drawings effectively
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required

Key Skills & Abilities of the CNC Machinist

• Confident in setting, programming, and operating Haas milling machines (programming experience desirable)
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and measurement equipment
• Awareness of health & safety best practices
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality
• Knowledge of 4th and 5th axis machining (advantageous)
