Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited is seeking an experienced CNC/Machinist Lecturer to teach, design and assess machining and CNC programmes across levels, blending practical workshops with theory for learners in Essex.

You will bring industry insight to the classroom, create a positive learning environment, monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet diverse learner needs. An emphasis is placed on current industry practice and curriculum relevance.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• The ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• A commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to keep the curriculum relevant.
