Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited in Essex is seeking an experienced CNC/Machinist Lecturer to design, plan, deliver and assess machining and CNC programmes, combining hands-on workshop sessions with theory to equip learners with industry-ready skills. You will bring practical industry experience into the classroom, adapt to diverse learners, and work with colleagues to keep the curriculum current and relevant.

A teaching qualification is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
The ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
A commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
