Job summary

Aspion Search in Manchester is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a precision engineering team. You will set up and operate 3, 4 and 5 axis vertical milling machines to manufacture high-precision components, ensuring accuracy and conformance to engineering drawings.

The role offers a competitive salary (£28,000–£38,000) plus shift allowance and opportunities for training and career development. Applicants should have a time-served apprenticeship, 2+ years of experience, and familiarity

Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering background.
At least 2 years' experience setting and operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines.
Good knowledge of vertical machining centres.
Experience reading engineering drawings and machining precision components.
Experience with Fanuc or Mazak controls.
Knowledge of CMM inspection equipment and GD&T.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision parts.
Maintain accuracy across production runs.
Prepare tooling, fixtures and job documentation before production.
Carry out routine machine maintenance.
Operate more than one machine where appropriate.
Inspect components with CNC and manual CMM equipment.
Ensure parts meet drawings and quality standards.
Identify production issues and communicate with team leads.
Follow health & safety, 5S and CI initiatives.
