Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting a CNC Machinist in Manchester to join a modern manufacturing team. You will set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines and produce precision components from engineering drawings, ensuring quality and production targets are met.

The role requires experience with multi-axis machines, GD&T, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A competitive benefits package accompanies a stable, full-time position in a busy machine shop.

Qualifications

Time-served engineer or completed engineering apprenticeship.
Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining centres.
Strong understanding of machining techniques and engineering practices.
Knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Understanding of GD&T principles.
Strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Set, prove-out and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
Produce first-off components and ensure quality requirements are met.
Operate machines efficiently while maintaining quality.
Prepare and manage tooling, fixtures and production documentation.
Monitor machine performance and carry out routine maintenance.
Manage operation of more than one machine where practical.
Identify manufacturing issues and communicate with Team Leaders, Engineering, Maintenance and Production Planning.
