Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a well-established automotive engineering business in West Sussex. You will operate CNC turning and milling machinery, set programmes and tooling, and develop new machining solutions to produce specialist components.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ CNC experience with Haas/Heidenhain/SolidWorks/CAMWorks proficiency, and the ability to work independently within a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Experience with Haas, Heidenhain, SolidWorks and CAMWorks is essential.
  • Experience setting and modifying CNC programmes.
  • Experience creating programmes using CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience machining castings and forgings would be advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Automotive experience or an interest in automotive engineering would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC turning and milling machinery to manufacture components.
  • Set existing CNC programmes, fixtures and tooling.
  • Create and validate new programmes using CAD/CAM software.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise manufacture.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and support quality control.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and programming issues.
  • Manage machine utilisation, materials and upcoming production requirements.
  • Identify improvements to processes, tooling, routing and drawings.
  • Support development of new programmes, fixtures and manufacturing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate production records and contribute to continuous improvement.

Location: Liss, West Sussex Salary: £16.00-£21.00 per hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Our client is a well-established and highly specialised automotive engineering business based in West Sussex, with a strong reputation within the luxury automotive sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their production team. The role will focus on producing specialist automotive components, setting existing programmes and developing new machining solutions.

CNC Machinist - Position Overview
  • Operate CNC turning and milling machinery to manufacture components.
