Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist near Oxford. This permanent, full-time role offers a basic salary of £40,000–£45,000 with overtime paid at 1.5x.

You will set and operate CNC Milling, Turning and MillTurn machines using Fanuc and Siemens controls within an established aerospace environment. The position demands experience with precision components, tight tolerances, and reading engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Machinist, CNC Miller, CNC Turner or similar.
• Strong CNC setting and operating experience.
• Experience using Fanuc controls.
• Ability to edit CNC programmes at the machine.
• Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances.
• Aerospace/precision engineering experience advantageous.
• Experience using verniers, calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC Milling, Turning and MillTurn machines.
• Work with Fanuc and Siemens-controlled machinery.
• Set, operate and edit CNC programmes.
• Manufacture high-precision components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Carry out self-inspection of completed components.

• Operate a Mitutoyo CMM running M-Cosmos software.
• Ensure components meet aerospace quality standards.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week - early Friday finish

Due to continued growth and a very busy order book, the company is looking to add another skilled machinist to its established manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller, CNC Turner or MillTurn Machinist looking for a strong basic salary alongside regular overtime paid at 1.5x.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities

• Aerospace, motorsport, defence or precision engineering experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience using verniers, calipers, micrometers and similar inspection equipment
• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
