Job summary

Sulzer in Leeds is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and set 5-axis machining centres, following engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture components.

You will perform in-process inspection, complete quality records, troubleshoot issues, and maintain machines and tooling while upholding safety and quality standards. The role offers a competitive salary and substantial onsite benefits.

Qualifications

• Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in CNC machining.
• Essential: Proven experience operating and setting 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Desirable: Experience with Mazak 5-axis machining centres and Mazatrol controls.
• Comfortable carrying out in-process inspection and completing associated quality documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and measurement data.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Experience using measuring equipment and quality control processes.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

About the role
