Job summary

Terry Parris Associates is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, set and operate CNC lathes and vertical machining centres, producing precision components from detailed drawings.

You will work across multiple machines, optimise tooling and processes, and contribute to quality, efficiency and safety. Competitive salary with profit share bonus in a small, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC machining within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CNC lathes and/or vertical machining centres.
• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience with conversational CNC programming.
• Good understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining processes.

Responsibilities

CNC Machinist

Location: St Leonards on Sea

Salary: £37 - £42K plus profit share bonus

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 4:30 and Friday 7:30 - 1pm 37.5 hours a week.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, producing precision components to exacting standards. You will work across CNC lathes and vertical machining centres, using conversational programming and your experience to optimise production.

About You

We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who can confidently program, set and operate CNC machinery and is comfortable working from detailed engineering drawings.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in CNC machining within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CNC lathes and/or vertical machining centres.
• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience with conversational CNC programming.
• A good understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining processes.
• A quality-focused and methodical approach to your work.
• The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player.
