Job summary

White-Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator for a permanent role in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The successful candidate will set and operate CNC milling and turning machines, produce precision components to drawings and specifications, and maintain quality on a modern CNC machining production line.

The ideal candidate will have proven CNC machining experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a diligent, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining and operating CNC milling/turning machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Familiarity with inspection tools (verniers, micrometers) and quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Produce precision components to drawings and specifications.
• Read engineering drawings and select appropriate tooling/fixtures.
• Perform in-process inspection and basic measurement.

Salary: GBP36000 - GBP37000 per annum

Role: CNC Machinist / CNC Operator

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established precision engineering business is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator to its growing production team.

The company manufactures high-precision components for demanding customers across sectors including aerospace, automotive and high-performance engineering, working with modern CNC machining technology and tight quality requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment and wants to develop their skills further.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
• Producing precision components to drawing and specification
• Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and programmes
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out in-process inspection and basic measurement
• Deburring and finishing components where required
• Making minor offsets and adjustments to maintain quality
• Re-setting machines when required
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Carrying out basic machine checks and minor maintenance
• Working to production targets while maintaining high quality standards

Skills and experience

• Previous CNC machining experience
• Experience of setting and/or operating CNC milling or turning machinery
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Good understanding of cutting tools, tooling and workholding
• Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
• Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
