Job summary

Teledyne CML Composites in Bromborough is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to read engineering drawings and machine aerospace components. You will set up five-axis and three-axis machines, load fixtures, and monitor precision against tight tolerances using Renishaw probes.

The role requires experience with multi-axis CNCs, ISO9001/AS9100 knowledge, and familiarity with aerospace/defence sectors. The team emphasizes quality and advanced manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Time Served Apprenticeship completed

Responsibilities

• Load and unload machining fixtures
• Set range of five-axis and three-axis machines
• Use measuring equipment: micrometers, Vernier gauges, plug gauges, screw gauges, ring gauges; Renishaw probe
• Maintain and clean machines and tools
• Set up and operate CNC machines (milling, turning, multi-axis) to produce aerospace components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications; monitor machining processes to ensure precision and tight tolerances

Job Purpose

This role will include machining aircraft components by reading and working from engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and Unloading Machining fixtures
• Setting our range of Five Axis and Three Axis Machines
• Using measuring equipment such as micrometres, Vernier’s, plug gauges, screw gauges, ring gauges, Renishaw probe.
• Conducting regular Maintenance and Cleaning of Machines and Tools.
• Set up and operate CNC machines (milling, turning, multi-axis) to produce aerospace components Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications Monitor machining processes to ensure precision and adherence to tight tolerances.

Experience

• Prior experience using multi-axis CNC Machines
• Experience of working to ISO9001 or AS/EN9100 quality approvals
• Experience of working in the aerospace/defence/automotive sector
• Good understanding of CNC Programming
• A good understanding of drawings and geometric tolerances
• Good understanding of component drawings
• Fanuc Controller experience would be beneficial.
