Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a permanent role near Ashton-under-Lyne. Salary is £28,600 - £33,200 per annum plus benefits including 25 days' holiday, pension and healthcare.

You will operate and set CNC machinery (3-axis and 5-axis), work with sheet metal, set fixtures and datums, and read engineering drawings in a structured production environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating and setting CNC machinery.
• Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
• CNC punching experience would be advantageous.
• Experience setting tools, fixtures and datums.
• Ability to work from engineering drawings.
• Experience within a sheet metal/manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• CAD/CAM experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operating and setting CNC machinery, including 3-axis and 5-axis equipment
• Working with 2D sheet metal components and a range of materials
• Setting fixtures, jigs and tool datums
• Carrying out tool changes and machine setting
• Operating CNC punching machinery and setting tooling
• Working with thin-gauge materials, approximately 0.6mm–2mm
• Following production drawings, specifications and quality requirements
• Working safely and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and 5S
• Supporting efficient production and maintaining quality standards

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who is looking to develop their skills and progress within a structured production environment.
