Job summary

Chester Hall Precision Engineering Limited in Wickford, Essex, seeks skilled CNC Machine Operators to join a growing team. You will machine aerospace components on 3-, 4- and 5-axis centres, reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools. Training is available; shifts include early, late and night with premium for non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience running 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Familiarity with measuring equipment (micrometres) and metrology practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate multi-axis CNC machines to produce aerospace components accurately.
• Set up, monitor and adjust machines for quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and document results.
• Maintain CNC machines and report any faults promptly.

CNC Machine Operator – Aerospace Parts

Location: Wickford, Essex, SS11 8YB

Salary: Competitive, DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Shift Rota: All available. 7am – 3pm; 3pm – 11pm & 11pm – 7am (premium paid for 3pm‑11pm & 11pm‑7am shifts)

Chester Hall Precision Engineering Limited is currently recruiting skilled CNC Machine Operators to join their expanding team in Wickford, Essex.

Using multi‑axis, high‑speed CNC machine tools, successful candidates will be responsible for machining a full range of aerospace components, running 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC machine centres to produce precision aerospace parts.

• Computer literate – Office based software
• Knowledge of engineering drawings
• Good understanding of engineering terminology
• Able to use various measuring equipment e.g. micrometres
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of running 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machining centres (at least 1 year’s experience)
• Knowledge and experience of maintaining CNC machines

Training will be ongoing if required.
