Job summary

Chester Hall Precision Engineering Limited is recruiting fully skilled CNC Machine Setters to join its Wickford, Essex team. You will set 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC centres to produce aerospace components, with 37.5 hours per week and a permanent contract.

Shifts available: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am with premium for off-peak. The role requires reading engineering drawings, understanding terminology and using measuring tools such as micrometres, with on‑the‑machine setting and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of engineering terminology.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as micrometres.
• Experience setting 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining centres.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines and on-machine tool changes.
• Adjust machines and perform tool changes and holder changes.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems across multiple machines.

Location: Wickford, Essex, SS11 8YB
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Shift Rota: All available. 7am - 3pm; 3pm - 11pm & 11pm – 7am (premium paid for 3pm-11pm & 11pm-7am shifts)

Chester Hall Precision Engineering Limited is now currently recruiting for fully skilled CNC Machine Setters to join their expanding team based in Wickford, Essex.

Using multi-axis, high-speed CNC machine tools, the successful candidates will be responsible for the machining of a full range of aerospace components.

The fully skilled CNC Machine Setter will be required to set 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machine centres producing machined precision aerospace components.

Duties will include but not restricted to:

• Setting CNC milling machines
• Setting on the machine tools
• Changing tools and holders
• Machine adjustments
• Problem solving on all machines

Attributes required:

• Knowledge of engineering drawings
• Good understanding of engineering terminology
• Able to use various measuring equipment e.g. micrometres
• Knowledge of setting 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machining centres (with experience)

Training will be ongoing if required.
