Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group, is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join the UK manufacturing team. You will support machining of components and assist setters to produce varied sizes and specs for critical industries.

In this role you will drive 5S, continuous improvement, and mentor apprentices and operators to grow machining skills within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification and/or CNC turning experience.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
• Ability to work with others to achieve team goals.
• Mentor and train apprentices and operators to improve machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the production of machined components from various materials in support of WMFTS pumps and tubing direct sales to customers globally.
• Provide support for various production activities including end-of-line processes.
• Embrace Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the machining value stream, working with Team Leaders on new ideas.
• Drive 5S activities across the machining value stream to ensure workspace is efficient and safe.
• Support process improvement investigations including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions.
