Job summary

Amphenol Ltd in Whitstable, Kent, is seeking a CNC turning operator to set and run sliding head lathes from bar stock, producing components for internal assembly lines. The role covers a two-week rotating shift pattern, mornings and evenings, with emphasis on quality and on-time delivery.

You will inspect against engineering drawings using precision instruments, optimise setups and cycle times, perform routine machine maintenance, and uphold health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths Grade C or equivalent or relevant experience.
• Experience operating CNC lathes with 4 axes and Fanuc controls.
• Able to read and edit Fanuc-based programs with precision.
• Able to read engineering drawings and inspect parts with measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC sliding head lathes to produce components to drawing tolerances.
• Inspect work using measuring equipment and report quality issues promptly.
