Job summary

Optical Precision in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a skilled CNC Turner, Setter and Operator for a late shift to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will set up and run CNC turning machines (Fanuc controls) to produce high-precision components, ensuring processes are optimized for accuracy and efficiency.

The role is permanent, on-site, with a 6PM–4AM schedule Monday to Thursday, overtime at enhanced rates, and a range of company benefits including a pension scheme and generous holiday

Qualifications

• Set, operate, and monitor CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings to manufacture aerospace components.
• Define tooling, fixtures and work holding for precision turning.
• Ensure quality within aerospace tolerances and maintain process controls.
• Apprenticeship trained or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and manage CNC turning machines (Fanuc controls).
• Prepare tooling, fixtures, and materials for production.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust as required.
• Perform in-process quality checks to tight aerospace tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings with precision.
• Maintain safe working practices and production standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality output.
• Support basic machine maintenance and care.
