Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setter/Operator for a well-established engineering environment in Northampton. You will set up, prove out and optimise CNC lathes, ensuring machines are prepared and running efficiently to produce high-precision components.
Responsibilities include tooling changes, offset adjustments, reading drawings, performing in-process inspections and maintaining quality. The role offers a 4-day week and ongoing training within a supportive team.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cnc Turner Setter Operator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, proving out and optimising CNC lathes, ensuring machines are correctly prepared and running efficiently to manufacture high-quality, precision-engineered components.
The role will involve machine setup, tooling changes, offset adjustments and process control, alongside supporting operators during production runs. You will also be responsible for carrying out in-process quality checks and responding to any production or quality issues to minimise downtime and scrap.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in CNC turning and machine setting who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality components.
Previous experience as a CNC Lathe Setter / CNC Turner / CNC Setter Operator.
Strong experience setting CNC turning machinery.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience setting tooling, offsets and workholding.
Experience using precision measuring equipment for in-process inspection.
A good understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions.
The ability to identify and resolve basic production and quality issues.
A strong focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
