Job summary

Manpower is recruiting for a weekend night shift CNC Grinder in Yeovil to produce aerospace components to exacting tolerances. You will operate external CNC grinding machinery, interpret drawings and maintain high quality while meeting delivery targets.

The role emphasizes precision, safety, and a lean manufacturing environment with training provided and a focus on quality to Honeywell and customer standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grinding tolerances/finishes to aerospace standards, incl. very fine diameters and micro-inch finishes.
• Experience using digital micrometers, comparators, air plug gauges and surface finish tools.
• Strong understanding of safety-critical aerospace manufacturing and why quality is non-negotiable.
• PC literacy to use company systems and follow procedures.
• Team-first attitude, flexibility, and initiative to keep work moving.

Responsibilities

• Operate external CNC grinding machinery using MDI (Manual Data Input).
• Perform surface grinding and thread grinding per instructions and specs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process/layout procedures.
• Meet tight aerospace tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Complete OCQ checks and stamping to confirm quality per Honeywell and customer standards.
• Work in a lean environment to support on-time delivery.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and contribute to a customer-focused culture.

Location: Yeovil (UK26)
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12 hour shifts), Friday-Sunday 19:00-07:00
Pay: £16.13-£24.20

What you'll be doing:

• Operate external CNC grinding machinery using MDI (Manual Data Input)
• Perform surface grinding and thread grinding in line with Manufacturing Instructions, specifications and customer/regulator requirements
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process layout/documentation procedures
• Deliver to tight aerospace tolerances and surface finish requirements
• Complete OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) checks (including stamping to confirm quality to Honeywell and customer standards)
• Work effectively in a lean environment to support on-time delivery
• Maintain consistently high standards of Health & Safety
• Contribute to a customer-focused culture and achieve production targets

What you'll bring:

Additional information:

• Training and development will be provided for areas such as PC skills (incl. company operating system), Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS principles, and general Health & Safety
• This position is subject to BPSS screening (proof of legal right to work, DBS/criminal records check, and drugs screening) and eligibility conditions relating to export control licenses/technical assistant agreements
