Job summary

Weston College is expanding its advanced engineering provision and seeks a CNC programming professional to join the team as a Lecturer in Engineering at the new AMTEC campus in Filton, Bristol. A Level 3 Engineering qualification is required, with substantial CNC experience and a commitment to teaching in a modern engineering environment.

You will teach CNC sessions, bring real-world industry knowledge into the classroom, support learners, and help develop programmes aligned with employer needs.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Engineering qualification is required (minimum).
• Significant CNC experience including machining, programming, diagnosing faults, setting tooling, and working with modern CNC technologies.
• Commitment to transferring industry knowledge into a teaching environment.
• High professional standards and ability to model workplace behaviours for learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach CNC sessions, including programming, tooling, machining and simulations.
• Bring real-world engineering knowledge into the classroom and connect learning to industry practice.
• Support students pastorally and academically to build confidence and technical competence.
• Contribute to development of high-quality programmes linked to employer needs.
• Provide guidance on progression into employment, apprenticeships or higher-level study.
