Weston College is opening the Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College (AMTEC) in Filton, Bristol, and seeks a Lecturer in Engineering - Fabrication to join on a part-time basis (21 hours per week). The proposed pattern from September 2026 is Wednesday 8.5 hours, Thursday 8.5 hours and Friday 4 hours, subject to curriculum requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience within Fabrication.
• Experience in mechanical and aerospace fitting, assembly and fabrication.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of PUWER, COSHH and Safe Systems of Work.
• Engineering qualification at Level 3 or higher.
• Ability to deliver technical instruction and assess learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in aerospace fabrication, fitting and assembly.
• Train learners in precision fitting techniques and aerospace standards.
• Ensure workshop health and safety procedures compliance.
• Assess learner competence and provide feedback.
