Job summary

Henry Blue in Walsall, West Midlands, invites an experienced CNC Programmer or CNC Machinist to transition into teaching. This permanent full-time role focuses on delivering practical workshop sessions and teaching CNC programming and machining to apprentices.

No teaching experience is required as full teacher and assessor training can be funded. Candidates with CNC experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and good communication skills will thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC programming and machine operation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Strong communication skills and a desire to mentor apprentices.
• Level 3 Engineering qualification (or higher) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical workshop sessions to apprentices.
• Teach CNC programming and machining concepts to learners.
• Assess learners and help develop their skills and confidence.
• Contribute to curriculum development and training plans.

This is an opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer or CNC Machinist to pass on their skills to apprentices.

Once trained, you'll spend your time delivering practical workshop sessions, teaching CNC programming and machining, assessing learners and helping develop the next generation of engineers.

No teaching experience is needed. If you've got solid CNC experience, full teacher and assessor training can be provided.

We're looking for someone with experience in:

• CNC Programming
• CNC Milling and/or Turning
• Setting and operating CNC machines
• Fanuc and/or Siemens controls
• Reading engineering drawings
• Safe workshop practices

Ideally you'll have:

• Level 3 Engineering qualification (or above)
• Good communication skills
• A desire to support and develop apprentices

Teaching or assessor qualifications are a bonus but not essential.
