Job summary

Cosworth Ltd. is seeking a CMM Operator to join our metrology team, operating PC D-mis and Zeiss CMMs to inspect engine components. You will ensure timely inspections, escalate issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role you will work alternating early and late shifts, supporting quality control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with measuring equipment and a background in engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CMMs and performing first article inspections.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with metrology equipment and calibration.
• Apprenticeship or formal engineering training.
• Manufacturing background with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out CMM inspections for multiple engine components in a timely manner.
• Support 5S and continuous improvement activities in the department.
• Liaise with production and engineering to resolve non-conformances.
• Maintain a flexible approach to assist with workload as required.
• Consider health, safety, environmental and energy impacts of all activities.
• Ensure data protection policy adherence.

Job Description:

As a CMM Operator at Cosworth, you will be required to operate multiple PC D-mis and Zeiss CMM's and carry out any Hard-Gauging requirements from the production line for multiple manufactured engine components. The operator will need to be proactive due to the frequency of inspection set by production and management changing daily. It is the job of the CMM Operator to ensure that the inspection is carried out in a timely manner, escalating any issues or concerns found to production and engineering.

The Role:

• To deliver the inspection for the various manufactured components in a timely manner, as set by engineering.
• To help towards the continuous improvement / 5S activity implemented in the department.
• Maintain a flexible approach to assist with workload as & when required.
• Liaise with production and engineering to resolve any non-conformances found when carrying out the CMM Inspection.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will be:

The successful candidate will be required to work alternating early and late shifts.

Early Shift

Monday to Thursday: 06:00 to 14:00

Friday: 06:00 to 13:00

Late Shift

Monday to Thursday: 14:00 to 22:00

Friday: 13:00 to 20:00
