Job summary

Cosworth Group Holdings Limited in Milton Keynes is seeking a CMM Operator to run multiple PC D-mis and Zeiss CMMs, executing Hard-Gauging tasks from the production line for engine components. The role requires proactive inspection scheduling and escalation of issues to production and engineering as daily priorities shift.

The successful candidate will have manufacturing experience, be flexible for overtime, and able to work as part of an integrated team while understanding GD&T and engineering

Qualifications

• CMM operating experience or familiarity with CMM inspection processes.
• Experience handling measuring equipment.
• Background in metrology or dimensional measurement.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Apprenticeship or formal training in engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inspection for components to engineering specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S activities in the department.
• Maintain flexibility to assist with workload as required.
• Liaise with production and engineering to resolve non-conformances.
• Consider health, safety, environmental and energy impacts of activities.
• Support data protection compliance as per policy.

Job Description:

As a CMM Operator at Cosworth, you will be required to operate multiple PC D-mis and Zeiss CMMs and carry out any Hard-Gauging requirements from the production line for multiple manufactured engine components. The operator will need to be proactive due to the frequency of inspection set by production and management changing daily. It is the job of the CMM Operator to ensure that the inspection is carried out in a timely manner, escalating any issues or concerns found to production and engineering.

The Role:

• To deliver the inspection for the various manufactured components in a timely manner, as set by engineering.
• To help towards the continuous improvement / 5S activity implemented in the department.
• Maintain a flexible approach to assist with workload as & when required.
• Liaise with production and engineering to resolve any non-conformances found when carrying out the CMM Inspection.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Companys compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will be:

• Flexible (opportunities for overtime and to help cover sickness and annual leave)
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Positive in their approach and willing to work as part of an integrated team.
• Experienced within a manufacturing background.
• Logical in their approach to problem solving.
• Open to developing new skills.

The following experience would be desirable for this role:

• CMM operating experience.
• Experience handling measuring equipment.
• Experience within a Metrology background.
• Understanding of engineering drawings.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Apprenticeship within Engineering.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternating early and late shifts.

Early Shift

Monday to Thursday: 06:00 to 14:00

Friday: 06:00 to 13:00

Late Shift

Monday to Thursday: 14:00 to 22:00

Friday: 13:00 to 20:00
