As the Cluster Sales Manager- MICE, you will report to the Cluster Director of Sales. You will effectively guide and manage hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strategic growth, and high-performance standards while fostering a positive work environment and driving financial success.

Your Job

  • Effective account management of key accounts and agents within the conference, sports, weddings and crew segments, ensuring the hotel capitalises on all opportunities from these existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Business Development Teams to nurture existing and secure new opportunities following the Dalata sales process.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with non-accommodation venues that may have COOH/Crew opportunities
  • Actively promote awareness and lead conversion of Weddings, Christmas, Graduation and themed events
  • Represent the hotels at sales team meetings, internal & external customer-led events as appropriate.
  • Adoption of all available tools to support efficient ways of working, including CRM, BI Tool, Market Intelligence Tools and Solver

Customer Facing- Owned Segments

  • Develop and nurture relationships for the hotels with key national & global clients through ongoing account management.
  • Focus on meetings, conferences, and functions for corporate and social events
  • Generate new business and accounts for all hotels
  • To participate fully in all sales activities, including telesales, sales calls, corporate entertaining, fam trips, social events, and overseas sales trips, as necessary.
  • Identification and management of new opportunities in your market in line with the hotel strategy and across the wider Dalata portfolio.
  • Work closely with Glasgow Convention Bureau and key Partners & DMCs for any Meeting or Group opportunities

Planning & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with CDOS on proactive sales strategy and identifying & analysing opportunities to ensure they fit with the hotel's business strategy.
  • Undertake monthly tracking of Conference In-House, Conference Out-of-House, Sports, and Crew segments in hotels to monitor enquiries and conversion levels.
  • Timely production of monthly & ad hoc reports.
  • Collaborate with M&E Manager on an aanalysis of meeting platforms to identify new opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales & Revenue on any new group or residential opportunities
  • Execute actions from quarterly sales activity plans to support business needs.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a similar position in hotels
  • Effective communicator
  • Be commercially aware with strong analytical skills, be able to understand key business indicators and competitive trends
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to develop and build long-lasting relationships through account management, and promote cross-selling into the Dalata hotel group
  • Experience of working with global clients & agencies
  • Sales-focused and results-driven
  • Knowledge of the Glasgow market is essential
