Job summary

Tesco Insurance is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, build and run secure, scalable AWS platforms. The role emphasizes automation, security, and platform resilience for Tesco IMS services, with a hybrid work pattern and a 2-day onsite requirement.

You will work with cloud engineers, architects and partners to mature the environment, automate delivery, and ensure compliant operations across multiple AWS accounts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting and engineering AWS cloud environments.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of AWS networking and security services (VPCs, Route 53, Security Groups, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling and cloud-based operational support practices.

Responsibilities

• Delivering secure, scalable and reliable AWS platform services for product teams.
• Improving platform consistency and deployment efficiency with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Enhancing cloud security, identity management and governance controls.
• Strengthening platform reliability, monitoring and operational resilience via automation and observability.
• Collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to optimise performance, security and cost.
• Contributing to engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
