Job summary

PEI Group is seeking a Cloud Platforms Engineer to help design and run the internal cloud platform across AWS, Azure and GCP, with a focus on self-service, guardrails and reusable components.

You will own building blocks, run the cloud estate, improve pipelines, observability, security and cost governance, while collaborating with engineering and data teams.

This role requires enthusiasm for learning new platforms, strong cloud and IaC experience, and a pragmatic, user-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building and running production workloads in a public cloud (AWS preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure as code in a team setting (Terraform preferred).
• Desirable: cloud identity and access at org scale; SSO integration.
• Desirable: Databricks or data platform infrastructure experience.
• Desirable: observability platforms like Datadog.
• Desirable: scalable, high-traffic web platforms.
• Desirable: ability to code (Python/Node.js) for tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable building blocks and Terraform modules for safe, self-service platforms.
• Run the cloud estate across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud footprints.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment safety to shorten time-to-live for changes.
• Make the platform observable by default with monitoring and dashboards.
• Bake security and compliance into shared components with least- privilege access and policy as code.
• Manage identity and access across cloud services and automation of access requests.
• Diagnose production issues and improve incident management processes.
• Oversee backup and disaster recovery across the estate.
• Help keep cloud cost attribution visible and actionable.
• Provide responsive support to teams and automate common requests.
