Job summary

Bauer Media Group is seeking a Support Engineer for its Data & Decision Sciences team in London or Peterborough. The role is hybrid, with some in-office presence required.

You will help keep data and analytics platforms running smoothly, improve observability, and support cloud infrastructure. You will work with engineers and stakeholders to enhance platform performance, security and access management, while developing your cloud and data platform skills and contributing to CI/CD and automation

Qualifications

• Experience supporting cloud-hosted platforms, infrastructure or data environments.
• Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, IAM, CloudWatch or related technologies.
• Experience using SQL and willingness to develop cloud data platform skills.
• Basic Python scripting and automation skills.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub workflows and CI/CD concepts.
• Awareness of IaC principles and Terraform.
• Collaborative communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support AWS services and cloud data platforms using observability tools (Grafana, CloudWatch).
• Respond to alerts and support requests to maintain reliable, observable platforms.
• Manage and standardise access permissions across AWS and RBAC.
• Assist deployment activities, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker-based workloads.
• Create and maintain documentation, runbooks and SOPs.
• Assist onboarding by provisioning system access.
• Serve as first point of contact for platform alerts, tickets, and access requests.
• Support security, compliance and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve performance and processes.
