Job summary

Actian is seeking a Software Architect to design and optimize our cloud platform. You will shape architecture for scale, resilience, and developer productivity across multi-client deployments.

You will drive security-by-design and cost-conscious engineering, building clear APIs and tools while pushing for continuous improvement and modernization of legacy code. Flexible remote or hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing cloud SaaS platforms.
• Strong background in microservices and distributed systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve cloud platform architecture for scalable, multi-client use.
• Build fault-tolerant systems capable of automatic recovery in production.
• Create clear APIs, templates, and tools to speed developer work and reduce errors.
• Monitor and optimize cloud costs, including Kubernetes usage.
• Refactor and modernize legacy code without interrupting daily work.
• Set technical standards and provide guidance to teams.
• Ensure security-by-design principles are embedded from the start.
• Define system monitoring metrics to detect failures quickly.
• Prototype and test new technologies before company-wide adoption.
