Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to join an engineering team building cloud-native applications and internal platforms in Nottingham. You will own serverless development, infrastructure as code, and production-grade deployments on AWS, with a strong focus on automation and reliability.

You will design, build and maintain serverless apps, develop TypeScript/Node.js services, and manage CI/CD pipelines while ensuring security and observability across environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and IAM.
• Experience with IaC using CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Automated testing experience, ideally Jest.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Cloud security fundamentals including IAM, least privilege and secrets management.
• Agile software engineering and full lifecycle delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain serverless applications on AWS.
• Develop clean, maintainable TypeScript/Node.js services.
• Build RESTful and event-driven APIs across microservices.
• Own features end-to-end from design to deployment and incident response.
• Manage AWS infrastructure with CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• Implement monitoring, alerts and observability in production.
• Collaborate with product, platform and DevOps teams to scale solutions.
• Contribute to technical design, documentation and runbooks.
