The Global Information Security Group (GISG), including the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and Vulnerability Attack Surface Defense (VASD) teams, defends KPMG and its clients from cyber threats through detection, investigation, and remediation.

Role summary

The Cloud Monitoring and Compliance Engineer ensures visibility into security and compliance across KPMG's cloud environments. Responsibilities include managing GSOC tools on Windows, Azure, and O365, supporting multi-cloud environments, and implementing automated remediation. The role involves collaborating with vendors, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze MDC Product alerts related to CWP & CSPM for internal clients.
  • Customize and enhance Cloud Security Posture Management and Microsoft Defender for Cloud features.
  • Onboard additional tenants and cloud providers.
  • Implement automated remediation activities.
  • Liaise with vendors to optimize product investment and influence roadmaps.
  • Manage and troubleshoot cloud security tools daily.
  • Collaborate with GISG teams to meet requirements and identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and standards.
  • Use DevOps practices to document project tasks.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Solid IT experience with major cloud providers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management tools (Microsoft MDC, Twistlock, Redlock).
  • Experience securing cloud environments, including certification and compliance.
  • Understanding of API security and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of exploits, malware, ransomware, detection methods.
  • Web application architecture and system administration skills.
  • Experience building complex RQL, KQL, or SQL queries.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP security features.
  • Programming skills in Python or PowerShell.
