Job description

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, has an opportunity for a Supplier Compliance Engineer to join our growing team and cover our East Midlands and East Anglia region of suppliers. This will be a remote role when you aren't with suppliers.

Ontic is more than just a business; we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We're committed to excellence, driving us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for overseeing compliance and quality within the Ontic Supply Chain, including the approval of suppliers and monitoring supplier adherence to regulatory standards. You'll conduct product and system audits (internally and externally) to assess the technical/process capabilities of potential and existing suppliers.

You'll work with internal colleagues to suggest corrective actions and overcome issues regarding product discrepancies while preventing the future re-occurrence of problems. You'll manage additional quality projects and support the Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Please note that you'll be required to travel frequently across the designated areas (East, East Midlands, East Anglia). Travel will often mean staying away overnight (funded by the business) within the UK, with occasional overseas travel to the USA for longer periods.

You will also occasionally be required to come to our Staverton office for essential business/department meetings.

What will you need to know?

You'll have previous experience performing to AS9100/AS9102 standards. We're happy to support you in your development by providing support to obtain a Lead Auditor qualification.

You'll be a subject matter expert in quality engineering principles and regulatory administration in some of the following areas: Part 21, Part 145, ISO 9001, Corrective Action Response (CAR), Root Cause Investigation Techniques.

You'll ideally have experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, but we are open to inviting applications from Auditors who have had exposure to supplier relationships in a previous role and are looking to transition into a pure SQE role.
