Job summary

Rightmove in London is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager for Cloud Foundations to lead a team delivering secure, scalable cloud platform services. You will own governance, automation, FinOps, and security, balancing reliability with cost efficiency while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product teams.

The role requires strong cloud operations experience, hands-on Kubernetes and IaC skills, and the ability to align platforms with business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cloud platforms and internal product teams.
• Deep knowledge of cloud services: networking, compute, storage, IAM.
• Hands-on with IaC, Terraform, Kubernetes and modern ops tooling.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to align cloud roadmap with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver a cloud platform strategy and roadmap aligned to business goals.
• Provide accurate estimates and realistic plans for initiatives.
• Manage platform roadmap, initiatives and OKRs.
• Lead coaching and development of engineers for scalable, secure platforms.
• Oversee incident management, on-call, and post-incident reviews.
• Embed governance, security policies and FinOps practices.
