Job summary

HMRC is seeking DevOps professionals to deliver Cloud Services and Dynamics, in an agile team. You will build, configure, and support solutions, manage tools, testing environments, and automation, and help with production releases.

Experience with Linux, AWS/Azure, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, containers, and monitoring is required; on-call support for 24/7 services is expected within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills.
• Practical experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS or Azure.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Basic scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory.

Responsibilities

• Deliver software for Cloud Services and Dynamics within an agile team.
• Build and configure solutions that meet business needs.
• Support development processes by managing tools, testing environments, code control, and automation.
• Support infrastructure deployment and management across programs.
• Develop, maintain, and share technical knowledge within the team.
• Collaborate with the LEADS Guild and staff across operations, database, test, and business teams.
• Release code changes into production following best practices and procedures.
• Provide regular on-call and out-of-hours support for 24/7 services.
