Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust seeks a Clinical Trials Assistant to support day-to-day running of NIHR Portfolio studies and external research projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to set up and deliver clinical research, while ensuring data quality and participant care across sites.

Based at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust/Portsmouth, the role involves phlebotomy, vital signs, and administrative tasks; full training is provided and occasional weekends/public holidays may

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 level of knowledge and training.
• Computer literate, with knowledge of patient administration & Microsoft Office systems.
• Completed Care Certificate or ability to complete within 3 months of appointment.
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training for research.
• Previous experience of clinical trials or research projects.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of clinical trials from the NIHR Portfolio and external grant funded research projects.
• Work across a range of studies, which may include interventional & observational research.
• Work with an experienced supportive team who are passionate about offering research opportunities to participants and patients to improve health outcomes.
• The role is varied; develop wider skills such as basic lab sample processing, handling, and shipping of samples.

• Prepare localised study templates and participant packs, capture and transcribe data into data management platforms, and respond to data queries.
