Job summary

Discover International, in partnership with a UK-based CRO, seeks a Clinical Trial Manager to drive the operational delivery of Phase I–IV trials for pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors, leading cross-functional teams from start-up through close-out.

You will manage budgets, timelines, site monitoring plans, and sponsor communications, ensuring adherence to ICH-GCP and MHRA guidelines and sponsor SOPs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in clinical trial management in CRO, pharma, or biotech.
• Proven line management or mentoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, UK/EU trial regulations, and risk-based monitoring.
• Experience in oncology, rare disease, or cardiovascular trials.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trial management for assigned studies, delivering on time and on budget.
• Line-manage CRAs/CRCs and oversee site monitoring plans.
• Serve as primary contact for sponsors with status updates and risk escalation.
• Develop budgets, timelines, and vendor oversight plans.
• Ensure inspection readiness and sponsor SOP compliance.
• Lead site selection, feasibility and start-up activities.
• Chair internal and sponsor study team meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trial management for assigned studies, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards
• Line-manage CRAs/CRCs, overseeing site monitoring plans and performance
• Serve as primary point of contact for sponsors, providing status updates and risk escalation
• Develop and manage study budgets, timelines, and vendor/CRO oversight plans
• Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with ICH-GCP, MHRA, and sponsor SOPs
• Lead site selection, feasibility assessments, and study start-up activities
• Chair internal and sponsor study team meetings

Skills & Experience

• Life sciences degree (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years in clinical trial management within a CRO, pharma, or biotech setting
• Proven line management/mentoring experience
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, UK/EU trial regulations, and risk-based monitoring
• Experience managing study budgets and vendors
