Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Perform all duties of the Patient Care Specialist as specified in the job description.
  • Maintain friendly relations with all staff, building trust and credibility.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold core values such as teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure activities comply with departmental expectations, federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triages patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, injections, etc.
  • Observe and report patient condition changes, reacting as necessary.
  • Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Support virtual medicine services.
  • Complete and forward patient charts accurately and timely.
  • Arrange referrals and pre-authorizations as directed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff, fostering a respectful and professional environment.
  • Perform DOT, BAT, and drug screening exams.
  • Meet physical and environmental demands of the role.
  • Comply with operational standards and confidentiality policies.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the office environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Secondary:

  • Assist with clerical tasks like patient check-in, demographic and insurance data collection, and billing.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and return calls professionally.

Telehealth Support:

  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
  • Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High school diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care.

Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with current CPR and either 4 years’ relevant experience with 2 years in Fast Pace or 6 years’ relevant experience.

Level 3 & 4: Similar requirements with increased experience thresholds.

Additional responsibilities include administrative duties such as scheduling, ordering, and training, as directed by management.

*CPR certification must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience & Education Requirements

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Active, verifiable licensure or certification required, with TB and IV certification obtained within 60 days if applicable.
