Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist as detailed in the specific job description.
  • Maintain friendly, professional relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow the company's Core Values: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure activities comply with department expectations, federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Perform patient triage, including checking vitals, blood draws, and injections.
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions, taking necessary actions.
  • Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Support virtual medicine providers and assist with telehealth services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts.
  • Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff, promoting a respectful and professional environment.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and drug screening exams.
  • Comply with physical and environmental demands of the role.
  • Support compliance training and maintain cleanliness of the office environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with clerical tasks such as patient check-in, demographic and insurance data collection, with professionalism and care.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and handle voicemails professionally.
Support for Telehealth:
  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
  • Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.
Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic, preferably in urgent care.

Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with current CPR license, with either 4+ years of relevant experience and 2 years in the role or 6+ years of relevant experience.

Level 3 & 4: Similar qualifications with increased experience requirements.

Additional duties include administrative tasks such as scheduling and training, as assigned.

*CPR must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred; active, verifiable license or certification required; TB and IV certification within 60 days if applicable.
