Job Overview

Band 6 Clinical Team Leaders/Nurses work in partnership with service users, their families, friends, and carers, playing an integral role in shaping their care experience. Band 6 nurses are expected to be compassionate, responsive, approachable, professional, and informative, contributing to the quality of care:

  • Ensuring safety through sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments;
  • Achieving optimal clinical outcomes by adhering to current evidence-based policies and procedures;
  • Empowering individuals by working in partnership throughout their care and treatment;
  • Supporting junior staff development and improving care delivery via supervision and reflective practice;
  • Willingness to participate fully in TMVA/physical intervention training.

Please note that this role requires successful candidates to engage in TMVA training, including the use of force techniques, due to the high-acuity ward environment, to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Engagement in TMVA training will be a condition of employment.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (Diploma/Degree in Nursing)
  • Mentorship Course

Desirable: Post-degree qualifications.

Experience

  • Substantial experience at Band 5 (RMN) level;
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care;
  • Knowledge of medicines and safe medication administration;
  • Interest and experience in Rehabilitation services.

Desirable: experience in counselling, group work, managing staff, or Care Coordinator under CPA.

Skills/Abilities

  • TMVA trained and willing to participate in physical intervention;
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills;
  • Teamwork ability;
