Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the CYPMHS Access Team based at The Cove. The Access Team is looking to recruit a band 6 RMN/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist to complete holistic and comprehensive gatekeeping assessments for young people across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint.

The successful candidate will be based at The Cove and would work across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint in various settings to undertake assessments of young people, including A&E, paediatric wards, police custody and home environments. You'll join mental health act assessments for young people to provide gatekeeping assessments collaboratively to avoid young people experiencing repeated assessments.

The post holder will be required to undertake specialist CYPMH access (gatekeeping) mental health assessments (including clinical risk) with clinical and crisis interventions for young people presenting with acute and severe mental health episodes in critical situations.

Provide CYPMH access assessments across Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust for young people, aged 13 years to 18 years, to support the staff in the provision of planning, managing and evaluating specialised care.

To provide a specialist role in the co-ordination of care for young people and their families, who are residing in CYPMH inpatient services out of the Lancashire/South Cumbria area. Also, be aware of the national demand for CYPMH inpatient beds and reliably inform internal staff of any out of area admissions/need for specialist out of area beds.
