Job summary

Healthcare Management Trust is seeking a Clinical Systems Manager to lead the EPR (Compucare8) configuration, upgrades, and day-to-day use across its Swansea-based hospitals. You will work with clinical and IT colleagues to ensure data quality and system usability to support high-quality patient care.

The role covers both Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea, and St Hugh's Hospital, Grimsby, and requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and excellent communication.

Clinical Systems Manager

Healthcare Management Trust (HMT) is a charitable organisation committed to delivering outstanding health and social care services. We're looking for an experienced Clinical Systems Manager to join our IT & Digital team and help ensure our clinical systems support safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of Compucare8 or a comparable Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system who enjoys working with both technology and people to drive continuous improvement.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of IT & Digital, you'll be the operational lead for our EPR, Compucare8, supporting its development and day-to-day use across St Hugh's and Sancta Maria Hospitals.

Working closely with clinical, operational and IT colleagues, you'll configure and optimise system functionality, improve data quality, roll out upgrades and testing, support users and ensure our clinical systems continue to meet the needs of the organisation.

As this role covers both hospitals it can be based at either Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea or St Hughs Hospital, Grimsby.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop Compucare8, including configuration, optimisation and support.
• Coordinate system and functionality upgrades, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementations.
• Work with clinicians and operational teams to improve clinical workflows and system usability.
• Monitor and improve data quality, reporting and performance information.
• Investigate and resolve system issues, liaising with suppliers where required.
• Develop user guidance, deliver training and support colleagues across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with information governance, GDPR and data security requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through system enhancements and user feedback.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

You'll Have

• Experience supporting or configuring Compucare8 or a similar EPR system.
• Experience configuring and building electronic patient record systems, delivering system upgrades, testing and change implementation.
• Knowledge of healthcare reporting, data quality and performance management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with clinical and operational stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence analysing complex datasets.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience in information management or a related field.

Experience within a hospital environment and knowledge of clinical workflows would be an advantage.
