Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is looking for a Clinical Support Worker to join the Falkirk District Nursing team at Grangemouth Health Centre. You will work with a Multidisciplinary Team to deliver routine patient care and state-of-the-art support under supervision by District/Registered Nurses.

The role includes venepuncture, medicine administration, catheter care, and home-based care for palliative and end-of-life patients. You must travel within the area and be PVG-checked; sponsorship is not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills including written communication.
• Good working knowledge of IT systems.
• Ability to travel throughout the area to provide patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine care for patients as part of the District Nursing MDT.
• Perform venepuncture and administer medicines following training.
• Provide catheter care and other clinical tasks under supervision of the District Nurse/Registered Nurse.
• Care for palliative and end-of-life patients in the patients' own homes.
• Support other MDT members including staff nurses and student nurses.
• Carry out duties to meet patient needs and work on own initiative, referring to Registered Professionals when needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support worker to work within our Falkirk District Nursing team. You will work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team and carry out routine care for patients in support of and supervised by District Nurse/Registered Nurse. You should have excellent communication skills which include effective written skills and a good working knowledge of IT systems

The role will include various clinical skills which include venepuncture, medicine administration, catheter care and other appropriate clinical investigations without supervision following the relevant training if needed. You will also be involved in care for palliative and end of life patients in their own home.

You will provide support to other members of the MDT including staff nurses and student nurses.

You will also carry out assigned duties to meet the patient's needs that will ensure that they are cared for appropriately.

You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and referring appropriately to the Registered Professional. Lone working is part of this role. You must also have the ability to travel throughout the area to provide patient care.
