Job description

Role Dimensions:

The successful candidate will work with the Head of Human Performance and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) to deliver physiotherapy services, including the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries to an exceptional standard.

Responsibilities include triaging, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients referred to the McLaren Performance Hub (MPH) Health Centre, and organizing referrals when appropriate. The role acts as a clinical expert in MSK issues, providing advice to employees, MPH staff, healthcare professionals, and GPs within the MPH practice.

The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team comprising GPs, Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors (ERI), Strength and Conditioning Coaches, and Medical Administrators to deliver physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to MTC Employees.

Additional duties include delivering corporate wellness education and advice to McLaren Racing employees. The role requires flexible working hours, including occasional unsocial hours or weekends.

Collaborating closely with the Lead Physiotherapist, the role involves implementing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services at McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).

The role has four main components:

1. Delivery of MSK physiotherapy service at MTC
2. Delivery of focused rehabilitation classes
3. Delivery of corporate wellness strategy and service improvement initiatives
4. Delivery of IST and service development projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in high-performance environments such as the Military or NHS, preferably as an APP.
• Post-registration MSc in MSK physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in assessing and treating complex MSK disorders, sports injuries, orthopaedic, and chronic conditions.
• Experience in mobilisation and manipulation techniques, preferably with formal qualification.
• Experience working autonomously in private practice.
• Prior experience in a clinical specialist role.
• Strong rehabilitation and exercise provision skills.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and service development.
• Experience in referring for and interpreting imaging.

Desirable:

• Completion of advanced MSK courses and evidence of CPD and EBP.
• Pilates or Yoga qualification.
• Injection therapy qualification.
• Diagnostic MSK ultrasound qualification.
• Women’s Health experience.

Professional Qualifications:

• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP)
• HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
• Degree in Physiotherapy
• Post-registration MSc in MSK Physiotherapy-related discipline
• Injection therapy qualification
