Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a Clinical Skills Facilitator for a 1-year fixed term/secondment, based at the Clinical Skills Centre, UHI House, Inverness. You will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate clinical skills teaching, support simulation-based education, and help plan core medical education courses for learners in training.

You will work with Clinical Skills Educators and the wider medical education team to ensure a high-quality learning experience and robust assessments, including OSCEs.

Qualifications

• Has at least 5 years’ experience at band 5 AFC which includes some acute care experience.
• Demonstrates a genuine enthusiasm for learning, teaching and developing others.
• Highly motivated, organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled in all core procedural clinical skills.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical skills teaching and training sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
• Support the delivery of simulation-based education and skills training programmes.
• Contribute to planning, organisation and delivery of core medical education courses and events.
• Facilitate and support assessments, including OSCEs.
• Provide supervision, guidance and feedback to learners in simulated and clinical environments.
• Work closely with Clinical Skills Educators and medical education team to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
