Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking an experienced clinical operations leader (Nurse or AHP) to oversee day-to-day site management for our Clinical Group. You will maximise bed capacity, deliver safe patient pathways, and ensure compliance with site policies, infection control and repatriation standards.

You will drive performance, business continuity, and escalation responses across the Trust. The role requires NHS experience, robust operational management, and strong skills in budgeting,

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or AHP with degree and Masters in health-related subject or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in managing health care services within the NHS.
• Experience leading on capacity, patient flow and performance delivery.
• Strong budget management and staff leadership across diverse specialities.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and patients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical groups and partners to strategy capacity and patient flow.
• Lead site escalation and declare escalation levels as needed.
• Ensure actions when bed demand exceeds capacity, with divisional/director awareness.
• Support clinical effectiveness reviews and safety/risk management initiatives.
• Foster open, honest, and supportive leadership culture.
• Respond to patient, family and staff concerns transparently.
• Act on patient experience feedback to improve journeys.
