St Andrew's Essex seeks an experienced Deputy Ward Manager or equivalent to provide visible clinical and operational support across inpatient services. The role oversees ward practice, staffing, incidents and regulatory compliance, while supporting nursing teams and ensuring effective handovers on a 24/7 basis.

The role requires NMC registration, a nursing degree (Mental Health/LD/Adult) and the ability to lead calmly in emergencies.

Formación

• Experience managing clinical staff at ward level on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Current NMC registration and degree in Mental Health, Learning Disability or Adult Nursing.
• Ability to lead during emergencies with calm, confidence and clear leadership.
• Proven ability to analyse staffing data and report/escalate as required.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee ward practice, staffing, incident management and regulatory compliance.
• Support nursing teams and maintain robust communication and handovers across 24/7 clinical operations.
• Monitor patient safety and uphold professional standards; coordinate across services.
• Safeguard patient experience and align operations with governance requirements; act as Duty Manager on call.
