As a Clinical Scheduling Coordinator at Cromwell Hospital, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive seamless, safe and timely access to treatment.
As the Clinical Scheduling Coordinator, you'll provide expert coordination and oversight of Theatre and Angio scheduling activities, ensuring that all bookings are clinically appropriate, operationally efficient and delivered to the highest standards.
You will: Coordinate and oversee Theatre and Angio scheduling activities across the hospital. Review and assess booking requests, ensuring all requirements are met prior to scheduling. Support the allocation, optimisation and utilisation of theatre and procedure slots. Coordinate urgent and short-notice cases, ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders. Act as a key escalation point for complex scheduling queries and operational issues. Liaise closely with consultants, consultant PAs, practice managers, theatre teams and clinical support services. Coordinate requirements including anaesthetists, perfusionists, radiology support, specialist equipment and theatre resources. Lead and contribute to capacity reviews, utilisation monitoring and forward planning activities. Support service improvements, scheduling process enhancements and digital transformation initiatives. Contribute to performance monitoring, governance activities and revenue optimisation through effective scheduling practices.
Essential Registered Nurse (Adult), Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or equivalent healthcare professional qualification. Current registration with the NMC, HCPC or relevant professional body. Experience working within a healthcare, hospital or clinical environment. Experience coordinating complex bookings, patient pathways or multi-stakeholder administrative processes. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with consultants, clinical teams and operational colleagues. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Sound understanding of confidentiality, data quality and information governance. Desirable Experience within Theatre, Cath Lab, Angio or procedural scheduling environments. Experience using Compucare or a similar patient administration system. Knowledge of utilisation management, capacity planning and service improvement methodologies. Understanding of theatre pathways, anaesthetic requirements and radiology support processes. Experience supporting digital transformation or operational improvement projects.
