Job summary

The Key Medical Practice is seeking a welcoming and efficient Clinical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients. You will support appointment scheduling, patient information, and privacy compliance within a primary care environment.

Roles may be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with training provided to use our clinical systems and uphold high service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working with members of the public.
• Familiarity with primary care IT systems (e.g., Emis Web).
• Basic understanding of general practice clerical processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with professionalism, empathy and reassurance.
• Provide clear information about check-in, waiting times and processes.
• Support patients with accessibility needs and escalate concerns.
• Manage busy waiting areas with a calm, safe atmosphere.
• Book and coordinate appointments following clinical priority protocols.
• Identify urgent or same-day requests and escalate as needed.
• Update patient records accurately using clinical systems.
• Handle confidential health information in line with GDPR.
